Well this Sunday was a horrible one. Kyle woke up feeling yucky, the kids were not cooperating and getting ready for church when asked. I was subbing for Ethan’s primary class, which meant that I needed to finish making sure I had everything I needed to teach the lesson AND get the kids ready all by myself. Well didn’t have time for breakfast at all, and we were very late to church this morning.
Dinah decided she was going to choke on a fruit snack during sacrament meeting, and she has been doing that a lot lately. She starts choking, then to clear the passage-way her body decides to throw up. Well I saw her making that face like she was getting ready to throw up and quickly took her out to the hallway where we could find a trash can (thankfully we sat at the back of the chapel). She didn’t throw up but got it down, so we went back in to sit down. As soon as I sat down Tyra announced that she needed to go potty. So I got back up and took her to go potty. We got back from the bathroom and Jeremy announced that he needs to go potty too, but I told him to wait until it was time to go to primary.
After sacrament meeting I herded my children down to the primary room. I sat with Ethan’s class since that’s where I was subbing. Jeremy sat in his row, and Tyra sat in her row. I kept Dinah with me since she technically isn’t old enough for nursery yet. But after she finished the bag of fruit snacks, she was driving me crazy! I realized there was no way that I was going to be able teach and take care of this wiggly little girl. So while the junior primary were still in sharing time, I took Dinah down the hall to the nursery. I put her down and she seemed interested in the toys so I left her there and went back to primary.
I got back right before they dismissed the kids to their classes, and my class ended up being dismissed first. Ethan’s class and I had just gotten to our classroom, and I sat down and started pulling out my scriptures and my lesson manual when the nursery teacher brought Dinah in screaming. I guess Dinah was fine in the nursery until she discovered that I was gone (and obviously that didn’t take long). They had tried to calm her down with toys and snacks, but she just wouldn’t have it. Oh well, I think we will try again next week and see if she does any better.
