Chloe’s blessing

We had Chloe’s baby blessing at church today. That’s the main reason my family is visiting right now. Chloe is so beautiful in her blessing dress.

In addition to my family coming up from California, Liesl & Ian came up too. Roine brought his kids out for the blessing. Karen came with her good friends the Hasenjagers (who actually are from my home stake in California). My mom’s good friend Joyce came over from the Ranches. And Debby brought her fiance, Jeff out for the blessing.

Chloe’s was the first of 4 baby blessings (3 of which were baby girls), and then there was a confirmation. So after that and all the announcements and business there wasn’t much time left over for testimonies. After Sunday school & Relief Society/Priesthood, we came home and had a nice lunch of deli meats and some yummy watermelon, and I made 4 quarts of blueberry ice cream and 4 quarts of banana ice cream for dessert. Yumm. It was so nice to get together and and have our family and good friends with us for the afternoon.

Going to the Zoo

My dad wanted to do something to spend time with our family, so he asked what there was to do in the area. I mentioned a couple things that I had heard of around here, but we don’t go anywhere, so I don’t know really what anything is. I mentioned that there is a zoo in Salt Lake City and that the kids had never been to the zoo. So after checking the internet for information and prices of different things, dad decided to take us to the zoo.

So we went to the zoo with my parents, and Jenny and her two kids, and with Debby, Wendy and Tiffany. The kids were just SO excited. Look at this big smile:CIMG2075

Check out the drinking fountain….Jeremy was afraid to put his head in it to take a drink at first. 😉

Dad was having a really good time taking the kids out.

It was such a fun day. There was a 2 day old baby giraffe that we only got a peek at. It was inside the giraffe house, and it poked it’s head outside to look around then it went back in. The kids also got their first taste of cotton candy. Later Jeremy asked me for “some more of that melting stuff”. Some of us got to ride the carousel, and Dinah cried when we took her off. And some of us got to ride the train, and Dinah cried when I took her off. 🙂 And By the time we left the zoo, we had walked around to see everything and were tired and hot and we were happy to be in the car and on the way home.

Sucking Jello

While Kyle and I were dating, there was a time that I went to Kyle’s house, and was waiting in the living room for him. Nobody else was in the living room, but his dad. And his dad was sitting in the corner of the room in his chair, sucking jello (with chunks of fruit in it) through a straw. It made the weirdest sound. But here the legacy continues…..

We went to chuck-a-rama for dinner and when it was time for dessert, Kyle started drinking jello through a straw. Then he taught our boys how to suck jello through a straw. Here is a good one of jeremy giving it a try:

Chuck-a-WHAT????

Dad said that he wanted to take us to Chuck-a-Rama for dinner tonight, since he heard that Ethan really likes that restaurant. So when Kyle got home tonight, Tyra ran up to him and excitedly said ‘Daddy, we are going to Chuck-a-grandma tonight!” SO FUNNY

Oquirrh Mountains Temple

We went with my family to the Oquirrh Mountains Temple open house this morning. Kyle got permission to be late to work, so that he could come with us. And Debby spent the night with us so that she would be here in the morning to be able to get to the temple nice and early.

The temple was beautiful, and it was so nice to be there with the family. I think this picture of Dad with Dinah is just so precious:
