It’s that time of year:
Tyra is selling girl scout cookies and we’d be glad to take orders if anyone is interested!
A blog about Kyle and Rebecca's family
For Christmas we got Tyra and Dinah these cute matching dresses (I’m bummed that they didn’t come smaller than size 12 months so I could get one for Chloe too but oh well). The girls have been in bad need of a long sleeved dress for wearing to church. I don’t understand why we live where it snows and the stores here sell SHORT sleeved (or even no sleeved) Christmas dresses. HELLO! Don’t you see the snow outside! So when I saw these long sleeved dresses I knew I should get them. 🙂
Aren’t they darling?
Kyle took the day off today so that I could help with Ethan and Tyra’s class Christmas Parties. I went to Tyra’s at about 11, and helped with passing out items for their crafts that they were working on, and I helped the kids with their projects when they asked for help. Then as all the kids were waiting in line to have some arms hot glued onto a snowman ornament that they were making, Santa came for a visit. The kids just stared at the door in unbelief. 🙂 They were so excited, and Santa read them a story, and he called out Christmas bingo. Then before leaving Santa passed out treat bags.
Then later Kyle went to the school to help out with Ethan’s class party. He did a better job of taking pictures than I did. 😛
Ethan got to make a graham cracker house at his party, and he was REALLY happy that Daddy went to help his class.
I have never gone to the school to help in my children’s classes before. The school asks that you not bring other kids with you and well, I’ve got several little ones at home with me, so I’ve just never gone to help. But this year I decided that I would sign up to help with the holiday parties, and I would get Kyle to take the days of the parties off from work so that I or even he can go help out in Ethan’s and Tyra’s class parties. So this is the first time I’ve ever gone to help with a school party. 🙂 Tyra was SO excited to have me in her class. She and all the other kids had fun making Indian headbands and they got to color fruits to put into paper bag ‘cornucopias’. Then they got to have a piece of pumpkin pie, and would you know it? My child was the only one in the class that asked for a fork to eat her pie (everyone else just picked it up and ate it).
Tyra is now officially a Daisy Girl Scout! I am SO excited to be getting her into girl scouts, and SHE is even more excited than I am, if that’s even possible. 😉 She went to her first troop meeting yesterday and just LOVED it, she also earned 3 of the petals already!
Tonight we took her to the Girl Scout shop to get her vest and all the parts of the uniform, and Tyra was just beaming. How cute is my Daisy?
