Getting ready for Halloween
Well I got out the Halloween costumes yesterday to try them on. My rule to decide when it’s time to get ready for Halloween is when I see the costumes in the stores it’s time to get the ones we have out to try them on, just so that IF we need to buy something we know way in advance. There have been too many years where it’s the day before Halloween and we still don’t have a costume that fits. And when we try to go buy one, there is almost NO selection. So I try to make sure I take care of this early.
Thanks to Grandma we have LOTS of costumes now, and something seems to always fit everybody (but it’s always good to double check and make sure). So Ethan tried on a couple of costumes, that he likes. Tyra tried on a couple that she really likes. Dinah has a couple of costumes that fit nicely. And Jeremy just has Snoopy. But he wouldn’t have it any other way. He insisted on being Snoopy ALL day yesterday. Then this morning he woke up and pulled off his pjs and got the Snoopy costume back on all by himself. He’s so cute.
Ethan’s second week of school
Ethan has successfully completed his second week of school. He REALLY likes school now. I was concerned that he was going to have issues with not having someone he knows in his class. But he is really enjoying it, and looks forward to going every day. In fact he was kind of mad when I told him that he doesn’t get to go to school on Saturdays and Sundays, and that Monday was a holiday and there was no school that day either.
This week at school the whole kindergarten are learning about their colors, and learning how to read the color names. The kindergarten teachers thought it would be fun if each day there was a focus on one color and asked all the kindergarteners to wear the color of the day. So last weekend we set out the clothes for the week, each day it’s own color. Tyra and Jeremy wanted to wear the color of the day too.
Tuesday was red day.
Ethan’s first finger painting! He calls it Clifford (the big red dog). So neat for a kid his age.
Wednesday was yellow day.
Thursday was blue day.
I love this painting. Ethan calls this the ocean. All the colors seem to be carefully placed, and there are even smiling fishies in the water.
Friday was green day.

Dinah got her third tooth!
Well Dinah has cut her third tooth, the top left one. Kyle was holding her looking in her mouth, and he thought it was showing through! We looked at it and although it wasn’t all the way out yet, it had definitely broken through, and she hasn’t cried once over it!
She still doesn’t have as many as her big brothers and sister had when they were this age, but she is just so cute!
