Christmas at Granny’s

We went to Granny’s to have a family Christmas dinner tonight. The kids always like getting together with cousins, and the boys always end up gathering around to watch someone play a game.

Dinah likes to get out the crayons and coloring books when we are at Granny’s house.

After dinner it was time to open presents, which is what the kids really wanted in the first place.

This year Granny bought the kids pajamas, among other things.

Kyle found some bacon candy canes at at fun little store in Draper, and so he bought a box to take to the family dinner to share. I think most of the boys thought it was cool, but Laurel and most of the girls did not like it. I didn’t try them myself. I prefer the fruity candy canes.

A few times throughout the evening Lydia was caught using Granny’s ornaments as earrings.

Here it is again, still with the living room lights on, but the flash off:

One more time but this time with the living room lights and the flash both off:

I love how the colors of the lights on the tree bounce off the wall and make a pretty background. 🙂

New Camera-My Early Christmas Present

Our Fuji camera started having some problems back in November. We were at the Locks of Love hair drive and we were taking pictures (of course) and the camera locked. We couldn’t turn it off, we couldn’t scroll through the pictures to see them it wouldn’t do anything it was just frozen. So we had to take out the battery and put it back in again to get it to reset. It got really bad on Thanksgiving. We were having to take the battery out to reset it after EVERY PICTURE WE TOOK! So we relied on our phones for awhile and I was very glad Liesl was in town to take pictures at Jeremy’s baptism and after party. Shortly after that we decided to just bite the bullet and buy a new camera, but a nice one. We are kind of sick of buying the little digital cameras that so far have all started giving us issues right after the one year warranty has expired. Kyle got me a Cannon EOS Rebel T3i and it arrived today! I thought about being a good girl and not playing with my new camera until Christmas, because it was supposed to be my Christmas present, but Kyle insisted that I pull it out and charge it and start playing with it now so that I would be able to use it Christmas morning.

Say CHEESE!
